In 2012, Rescon assumed management of the cleanup of the Former Fairbanks Welding property in Fairbanks, Alaska. The property has been listed on the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Contaminated Sites Database since 1990 due to known petroleum and chlorinated solvents contamination in the soil. Since the initial listing, several environmental actions had been performed at the property with limited remediation results. Upon assuming management of the project, Rescon instituted a multi-faceted remedial approach, including; the delineation of several petroleum and solvent contamination source areas, excavation and landfarming of diesel contaminated soil, chlorinated solvent groundwater investigation, vapor mitigation, and the closure of seven Class V – Motor Vehicle Waste Disposal Wells through the EPA Underground Injection Control Program.
